Teaching Practicum in Group Kim-Thach-Hien-Hoa. Nov 2018

In order to celebrate Vietnamese Teachers’ Day and share knowledge as well as teaching methodology, teachers from the Group Hien-Hoa-Kim-Thach and some others from Vinh Long and Vinh Thanh Primary School joined a practicum activity demonstrated by Mr. Nguyen Xuan Dao at Vinh Thach Primary School.

In this lesson, Mr. Dao taught Tieng Anh 5: Unit 7: How do you learn English? – Lesson 1 (part 1-3). He used communicative approach to engage pupils’ interests in speaking English. Thus, an English speaking environment was successful established. Besides, some interesting activities added to the lesson such as a chant for warm-up, hand-outs for eliciting sentence patterns and interviewing are great sources for other teachers to apply in their teaching procedure.

After the practicum, all the teachers took part in a discussion where they shared their thoughts about the period and some solutions for difficulties in teaching as well. In short, the practicum ended successfully and we do hope that the teachers who observed the demo lesson in some ways can improve their English teachers in the future.
